The 2009 California Poppy Festival is scheduled for April 25-26, 2009. The Poppy Festival runs from 10am to 6pm on both days, and takes place rain or shine. Join us for a ride to Big Bear via the "Rim of the World" highway and ending with lunch at La Paws Restaurant in Big Bear City.
Ride level of difficulty: intermediate due to extended freeway travel and twisty CA highways.

91 West/605 North/105 West/405 North/10 West to PCH LA IRON ANGELS MEET POINT: Chevron @ PCH/Sunset (17301 Pacific Coast Hwy, Pacific Palisades, CA 90272) @ 8:30 – clutches out 8:45AM
Right onto PCH North from service station at Sunset/PCH. Right Kanan Dume Rd. (N9). Kanan Dume Rd. changes to Kanan Rd. after crossing Mullholland Hwy. Continue on Kanan Road (at some point you will cross the 101 Freeway) and keep going.Right on Westlake Blvd.Left on Avenida de los Arboles (on map turn appears to be at end of Westlake Blvd).North on 23 Freeway.

Exit Los Angeles Avenue (Rte 118) going West. Go through Moorpark.Right on Balcom Canyon Road (follow signs for this road, it takes a few odd jogs).Left on South Mountain Road (at the end of Balcom Canyon Road). Cross the 126 Freeway into Santa PaulaLeft onto Harvard Blvd (immediately after 126 Freeway crossing).Right onto 10th St.(Rte 150.Take Rte.150 straight through Ojai and join Rte 1 North just below Carpinteria.

Take Rte. 1 straight through Santa Barbara.

Take Rte. 154 North over San Marcos Pass and then take a left at Rte 246 to head into Solvang.Return will be via 101 North or PCH (depending on traffic)

Join us for a ride up the coast and north to neighboring LA County while we take a loop around the Westlake Village region and back down the coast again.

- East on Portero Road (becomes Lynn Road)
- West on Avenida de los Arboles to Wildwood County Park
- East on Avenida de los Arboles
- North on Lynn Road (which becomes Olsen Road)
- North on North Moorpark Road
- West on Tierra Rejada Road
- West on SR118
- North on Balcolm Canyon Road
- East on South Mountain Road
- East on Barsdale Ave.
- South on SR23 to 101
- 101 or PCH 1 return to Buena Park (will take alternate routes if there is traffic on the return home)

- Right on PCH and travel west through Long Beach
- Cross Vincent Thomas Bridge (CA-47) to Gaffey St.
- REST STOP @ Korean Friendship Bell on Gaffey St.
- Travel south on Gaffey to Paseo Del Mar
- Right on Paseo Del Mar and follow road to Western Ave.
- Left on Western Ave. to Palos Verdes Dr. South
- Follow road through PV Drive West to PV Dr. North
- Right on PV Drive East
- Left onto PV Drive South
- Left on Western Ave.
- Right on PCH
- Take CA-103 South to CA-47 back to Long Beach
